Sonar has a topographic nature to it, taking a look at the different perspectives through which an object or, in this case plane, can be viewed, and how these different viewpoints affect the viewer's perception of the object.  This small-scale project was the result of my restriction to one material, a roll of wire screen, and a mission to transform it into something else distant from its original, industrial purpose.

Sonar is inspired by the idea of the scanning and mapping of landscapes and spaces through new forms of technology. The connection to topography is reinforced by the layering of the wire sheets, resulting in visible topography lines or perhaps the progression of an object or landscape overtime.
